Booking Form
Our promise to you as our guests at Kielder Cottage is that
on arrival you will find the cottage and its contents in a good
state of repair, with all fittings, appliances etc. in good working
order. (The exception being damage or breakdown reported by guests
leaving that morning when there has been insufficient time to arrange
repair or replacement).
We guarantee a high level of cleanliness, and would ask our
guests to leave the premises in the same state of repair and cleanliness
in which it was found.
Booking confirmation
A non-returnable deposit of £100 per week or 20% of the holiday
price, whichever is higher is required with each booking. The balance
must be paid before 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.
For late bookings, payment will be requested in full. Cheques should
be made payable to Mrs E Hunt-Vincent.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your booking you must inform us in writing
as soon as possible. If you cancel more than 8 weeks before the
start of your holiday, the final balance invoice will be cancelled.
If you need to cancel within the 8 weeks before your holiday, the
balance (excluding the deposit) will only be returnable if we can
re-let the property for that period. We therefore strongly advise
that you arrange suitable holiday insurance. If you do not inform
us of any cancellation nor make the balance payment in time, we
are entitled at our discretion to treat your booking as having cancelled
by you.
Arrival and Departure
The cottage will be available from 3pm on the first day of your
holiday. You are expected to keep us informed of your time of arrival.
If we are not there to personally welcome you, please call us if
you have any questions about any of the facilities. We hope you
will find everything you need to know in our 'Welcome folder'.
Departure time is 11.00 a.m.
Occupancy
Kielder Cottage is a non-smoking cottage. No more than six people
should occupy the Cottage at any one time. We reserve our absolute
discretion to refuse admission or repossess the property as the
case may be, if we have reasonable grounds to believe that (1) smoking,
(2) a crime or (3) damage to property has been committed intentionally,
is being committed or may be committed by anyone in your party during
your stay. These circumstances will be treated as a cancellation
by you. You are fully responsible for the behaviour of the members
of your party.
Breakages
Small breakages such as a cup or glass will not be charged for,
however please bring any such breakages to our attention to enable
us to replace them for new guests. For loss, damage or breakages
of larger items, several smaller items or keys, you are responsible
to pay for replacements.
Pets
Pets are allowed only by prior arrangement at an additional cost
of £10 per pet per stay. Please:
- Keep pets off all furniture
- Do not let pets enter the bedrooms
- Do not leave pets unattended unless caged
- Remove all evidence of pets from the house and garden before
leaving.
Essentials
We are happy to provide initial supplies of everyday consumables
such as washing up liquid, toilet rolls, washing powder etc. you
are however expected to replace an item which has run out.
Liability
We shall not be liable to you if the Cottage is not available for
your booking and for any loss or damage suffered by you caused by
any circumstances which are beyond our reasonable control (e.g.
fire, flood, exceptional weather conditions, power-cut etc). We
shall be under no liability to you for any consequential or indirect
loss and/or expense (including the costs of securing an alternative
accommodation) arising out of a breach by us of this hire agreement.
Owner's Access
The owner of the property or his representative shall be allowed
access at any reasonable time during your stay.
Emergencies
In the unlikely event of an electrical or plumbing fault, please
contact the owners, Elaine and Tom Hunt-Vincent, in the first instance,

arrange for the problem to be resolved quickly and efficiently by
a local tradesperson.
